Should I email this guy or not? Please answer..thanks..?

Okay so I was on yahoo personals a while ago and there is this latino guys profile who stood out a lot more than the others, but I never bothered contacting him. So I went to see if he had a myspace page just out of curiosity(I had looked this other guy up because I figured he was lying on his dating profile that he had kids, and it turns out that he did, so on a whim I decide to look up the guy that really stood out to me) so I see on the latino guys myspace page(he is single) and it has the gloomy emoticon and it says that he is hating life right now and he wants to give up. So I just wanted to send him an email to see if he feels like talking and to give him some words of encouragement. Would that be okay? Would he think Im weird or something?
