Are 2000 Mitsubishi Montero's good, reliable suvs?

I am thinking of buying one. I need a reliable family vehicle (three small kids). The one I am looking at is the Endeavor Edition. Everything works well, runs good. 110,000 miles on it. Also the guy just bought new tires about 400 miles ago. They are really good tires. He is asking $6000 firm. Is this too much, and are they good cars?
